The duty of our generation
A reflection on the choices we face — and the kind of country we leave behind.

Looking beyond the next milestone
From a mountain path, the next turn is often easier to see than the destination. Public choices can feel the same. Education, public spaces and the environment ask us to think beyond an immediate reward.
What we inherit
Every generation begins with things it did not build alone. Libraries, institutions and habits of cooperation are part of that inheritance. Keeping them useful requires care as well as a willingness to change.
What we leave behind
Progress is not only a new technology or a larger number. It can also mean leaving the next generation more freedom to choose, more confidence to participate and a stronger sense of belonging.
